Enterprises to apply for certification should meet several basic conditions:
1. The product manufacturer should be an entity with a clear legal person status, the product has a registered trademark, and the quality is stable and mass-produced;
2. The enterprise shall establish and implement the food safety management system according to the requirements of GMP and ISO22000 management system, and operate it effectively;
3. Before an enterprise applies for certification, the ISO22000 system should be in effective operation for at least three months, at least one internal audit should be done, and the unqualified found in the internal audit should be confirmed, rectified and tracked for verification.
After the company has met the above basic conditions, it can apply for intention to the certification body with certification qualifications. At this time, you can ask the certification agency for public documents and application forms to learn about the conditions that applicants must have, certification procedures, and charging standards. At this time, the certification body usually requires the enterprise to fill out the enterprise situation survey form and the letter of intent. Of course, different certification bodies have different requirements for this. When formally applying for certification, the applicant should fill in the application form according to the requirements of the certification body, and submit the food safety management manual, procedure documents, SSOP, ISO22000 plan and other relevant certification materials for the certification body to review the documents.
The certification body examines the application materials submitted by the applicant enterprise and decides whether to accept the application. If it decides to accept the application, the two parties will sign a contract; if it is not accepted, the certification body will notify the applicant in writing and explain the reasons. Document review mainly depends on whether the system documents prepared by the enterprise can meet the requirements of relevant certification standards, whether the Sanitation Standard Control Procedure (SSOP) can meet the requirements of GMP, whether the ISO22000 plan is reasonable, and whether the hazard analysis is sufficient.
After signing the certification contract, the certification body generally conducts the audit according to the following procedures: forming an audit team, document review, initial visit or pre-audit, preparation before on-site audit, on-site audit and submission of report. For enterprises applying for product ISO22000 certification, product type inspection is also required. After reviewing the submitted quality system audit report and product form inspection report according to the specified requirements, the certification body prepares a comprehensive report on product quality certification and submits it to the technical management committee of the certification body for approval. Based on this, a decision on whether to approve the certification is made. Issue certification and registration management to approved enterprises. Written notice to the enterprise that does not approve the certification, explaining the reasons.
The certificate shall indicate the name of the certified enterprise, the address of the production site (in the case of multiple sites, the address of each site shall be indicated), the products covered by the system, the standards for audit basis and the date of issuance of the certificate, etc. The enterprise that has obtained the certification shall use the certificate in accordance with the relevant provisions of the certification certificate and logo management procedures, and accept the supervision and management of the certification body.
After the food enterprise has passed the certification, it should also accept the post-certification supervision and re-evaluation of the certification body. According to the relevant provisions of the "Implementation Guidelines for the Accreditation of Food Safety System Certification Bodies Based on ISO22000", the certification body can determine to carry out supervision and audit of the ISO22000-based food safety system of the certified enterprises, usually once every six months (seasonal production in The production season is at least quarterly), if the certified enterprise has made significant changes to its ISO22000-based food safety system, or has made changes that affect its certification basis, the frequency of surveillance audits needs to be increased. The re-assessment is another complete audit, reviewing the operation of the ISO22000-based food safety system during the past certification validity period. The certification body shall re-evaluate the supplier's entire quality system once a year.
