ISO14001 Environmental Management System Certification Process
Time:2022-03-24 Clicks:

To apply for certification of the environmental management system established by the enterprise, it must meet two basic conditions: Welcome to inquire: Miss Luo 13798904733

(1) Comply with Chinese environmental laws, regulations and standards;

(2) The system has been in trial operation for 3 months

Under the above two important preconditions, the ISO14000 environmental management system certification process is roughly divided into the following four stages:

1. Accepting the application of the applicant:

Organizations applying for certification must first comprehensively consider factors such as the authority, reputation and cost of each certification body, and then select a suitable certification body, get in touch with it, and submit an application for environmental management system certification.

After receiving the official application form of the applicant, the certification body will conduct a preliminary review of the applicant's application documents, and if it meets the application requirements, it will sign a management system audit/registration contract with it, and determine to accept its application.

2. Environmental management system audit:

In the whole certification process, the audit of the applicant's environmental management system is the most critical link. After the certification body officially accepts the application of the applicant, it quickly forms an audit team and appoints an audit team leader. The audit team has at least one professional auditor or technical expert with the professional project type of the audit scope to assist the audit team in the audit work. .

The audit work is roughly divided into 3 steps:

1. Document review:

A detailed review of the preparation documents submitted by the applicant is the basic work for the implementation of the on-site audit. The applicant needs to prepare its environmental management system documents. During the audit process, if it is found that the applicant's EMS manual does not meet the requirements, it will take effective corrective measures until it meets the requirements. After the certification body has carefully reviewed these documents, if it is deemed qualified, it is ready to enter the on-site audit stage.

2. On-site audit:

On the basis of completing the document review and pre-audit of the applicant, the audit team leader should formulate an audit plan, inform the applicant and solicit the opinions of the applicant. If there are different opinions, immediately notify the audit team leader or certification body, and solve these problems before the on-site audit. After solving these problems, the audit team formally implemented the on-site audit. The main purpose is to evaluate the environmental management by conducting on-site inspection of the applicant and verifying the actual implementation of a series of documents such as EMS manuals, procedural documents and work instructions. The effectiveness of the system operation is to determine whether the environmental management system established by the applicant conforms to the ISO14001 standard.

During the implementation of the on-site audit, the audit team will conduct internal discussions every day, chaired by the audit team leader, with all auditors participating, to conduct a comprehensive assessment of the structure of the audit, and determine which non-conformities found in the on-site audit need to be written as Nonconformity reports and their severity.

3. Follow up audit:

The applicant shall correct the found non-conformities according to the time agreed upon by the audit plan and the certification body, and submit the corrective measures to the certification body after the completion of the corrective measures. After the certification body receives the materials, the members of the original audit team will conduct a follow-up audit on the effect of the corrective measures. If the audit results show that the materials reported by the auditee are detailed and accurate, the registration stage can be entered.

3. Apply for approval and issue a certificate

According to the requirements of the registration materials submission list, the audit team leader will sort out the submitted materials and fill in the registration recommendation form, which will be submitted to the certification body for review. The applicant can publicize it through various media, and can affix the registration mark on the product.

4. Supervision, inspection, review, and certificate replacement

During the validity period of the certificate, the certification body will supervise and inspect the certified enterprise to ensure that the environmental management system meets the requirements of the ISO14001 standard and can operate effectively and effectively. After the validity period of the certificate expires, or after the enterprise's certification scope, mode, organization name, etc. have undergone major changes, the certification body accepts the enterprise's application for certificate renewal to ensure that the enterprise continuously improves and perfects its environmental management system.
